Škoda is set to strike the right chord with customers who place an order for a new, all-electric Peaq. To celebrate the brand’s new partnership with premium audio brand maker Sonos, Škoda will be giving away 100 Sonos ‘Play’ portable speakers to the first 100 customers who place a pre-order with a retailer.

The fifth Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift concluded yesterday with the finish of Stage 9 in Nice, France. Dutch cyclist Demi Vollering claimed overall victory, while another Dutch rider Lorena Wiebes won the points classification.

Škoda Auto has launched series production of the all new Škoda Peaq at its main plant in Mladá Boleslav. The new model is built on the same production line as the fully electric Elroq and Enyaq and the combustion-engine Octavia. This flexibility enables highly efficient production and allows the company to respond quickly to changing customer demand.

Škoda Auto confirmed its strong position in the global market in the first half of 2026, delivering 555,700 vehicles to customers worldwide, up 9.1% year on year. In Europe (EU27+4), the carmaker remained the second-best-selling brand, retaining the position it held after the first quarter. Driven by growing customer demand for electric vehicles, deliveries of the all-electric Elroq and Enyaq rose 48.3% year on year to 108,200 vehicles. These results make Škoda the fourth-best-selling BEV brand in Europe.

Škoda is renaming one of the UK’s most significant national parks to mark the introduction of the new all-electric Peaq. For one week only, the park will become the Peaq District, encouraging staycationers to explore the UK’s outdoor spaces after research revealed that nearly a third of people (29%) have never visited one of its national parks.

Škoda UK has delivered an exceptional performance in the first half of 2026, setting a raft of new records, from overall sales volume to market share. 

The 113th Tour de France gets under way on Saturday with the Grand Départ in Barcelona, Spain. Škoda Auto is the main partner of the world’s most famous cycling race for the 23rd consecutive year and will present its two new all-electric models to the public for the first time: the Škoda Epiq and the new flagship Škoda Peaq. The Peaq SUV will serve as Race Director Christian Prudhomme’s ‘Red Car’ on 12 of the 21 stages. For the remaining stages, he will use a Superb iV plug-in hybrid as his mobile command centre.

Škoda has continued its remarkable winning streak at the Auto Express New Car Awards by taking no fewer than three coveted category wins. The Superb, Elroq and Kodiaq were recognised as the very best in their respective sectors, with the Kodiaq recording its seventh win in nine years.
