The gothic city of Prague was the backdrop to the Škoda UK Retailer of the Year awards 2023. The annual awards were created by the Czech manufacturer to highlight the hard work and dedication of its retailer network, which spans more than 125 businesses across the UK and Northern Ireland.
Škoda ambassador Chemmy Alcott, known for being Britain’s greatest female skier and presenter of BBC Ski Sunday, was in Prague to hand out the awards.
The awards were presented across nine categories, and in each the top three retailers were recognised for their excellence. This year, the overall Retailer of the Year 2023 title was awarded to the hard working team at Barlow Motors (Crewe). Just missing out on the top spot, and deservedly praised for their incredible success over the past twelve months were Murray Škoda (Plymouth) and Vindis Škoda (Bury St Edmunds), who secured second and third place respectively.
Before being crowned as the overall winner on the night, Barlow Motors (Crewe) also scooped two category wins including the Sales Award and Used Car Sales Award, and were named as a finalist in the Loyalty Award and the Digital Experience Award categories.
Other big winners on the night were Hayselden Škoda (Doncaster) who won the Fleet Sales Award, and Group 1 Škoda Norwich who took home the Škoda Finance Award. Fred Rees Garages Škoda (Haverfordwest) was named Most Improved Retailer, while the Human Touch Award went to Vindis Škoda (Bury St Edmunds), and the Loyalty Award to Heritage Škoda (Yeovil). Wings Škoda (Peterborough) topped the Digital Experience Award, and it was Meadens Škoda who won the Aftersales Award.
