The ŠKODA Yeti has scooped yet another key industry award, having just been named Used Car of the Year by Car Dealer Magazine. The award was announced at the publication’s annual Used Car of the Year ceremony held at The Brewery in central London.

Milton Keynes, 30 November 2015 - The Car Dealer Used Car honours take a host of factors into account as part of the judging process. In addition to retained value after three years, the judging panel took data and feedback from dealers with regard to days to sell and desirability. After combining this information with the verdicts of the magazine’s road test team and website users, the Yeti was declared to be head and shoulders above the competition.

Colin Channon, Editor of Car Dealer magazine said: “The Yeti was a unanimous decision this year. The award was made not only on its ability, but also its desirability – both with users and our own test findings.”

This latest award adds to the Yeti’s impressive tally of used car industry accolades. It was named Best Used Crossover in the 2015 Auto Express Used Car Awards and also took top honours in the Off-Roader category in the 2015 Auto Express Driver Power survey. In total, the Yeti has won 25 key industry titles in the UK alone since its introduction in 2009.

Commenting on the Yeti’s latest honour, Nick O’Neill, National Used Car Sales Manager for ŠKODA UK said: “The Yeti remains hugely popular with new and used car buyers and we’re delighted with this important award. Owners have consistently rated the Yeti as one of the most satisfying cars to own and this is reflected by strong demand in the used sector.”

The ŠKODA Approved Used Car Event is running until 4 December, with used Yeti’s up to two years old available with £1,000 deposit contribution, two years warranty and roadside assistance. For more information contact a local ŠKODA retailer or visit www.skoda.co.uk/used.

ŠKODA’s new large SUV is to be called Kodiaq. The name refers to the Kodiak bear that lives on a remote island off the southern coast of Alaska. Its spelling is derived from the language of the indigenous people – the Alutiiq. The foundations of an exemplary success story were laid 25 years ago. The partnership between the Volkswagen Group and the Czech carmaker began on 16 April 1991. From that point on, the traditional Czech brand evolved from being a regional market leader to an internationally successful vehicle manufacturer. In the presence of Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, Volkswagen CEO Matthias Müller and Jaroslav Povšík, head of trade union KOVO MB, ŠKODA CEO Bernhard Maier commemorated this outstanding milestone in the company’s 121-year history today. Around 500 guests from politics, economy and society took part in the anniversary celebrations at the Laurin & Klement Forum of the ŠKODA Museum in Mladá Boleslav.
