ŠKODA UK launches integrated marketing campaign for 'game changing' new Superb

ŠKODA UK is launching an innovative through-the-line campaign to support the launch of the new ŠKODA Superb.

Milton Keynes, 18 September 2015 – The campaign celebrates ŠKODA’s halo car as a Simply Clever solution for customers, offering both style and space – a dynamic exterior coupled with a spacious interior.

The ‘Travel in Style. Travel in Space.’ campaign will run across TV, VOD, cinema, digital OOH, press, digital and social. Further support will come from bespoke content strands running through a partnership with Haymarket.

The 40 second TVC ‘Costume Party’, which broke on ŠKODA-owned channels on 11 September, will break on TV on 20 September coinciding with the Wales vs. Uruguay Rugby World Cup match. The ad focuses on a little boy dressed as an astronaut travelling back home from a party with his family, where his journey inside the ŠKODA Superb makes him feel like he's inside a spaceship.

A teaser video will also break on ŠKODA-owned social channels on 18 September. ‘The Superb has landed’ shows the new Superb seemingly landing on the moon, before panning out to reveal a miniature set complete with replica model of the new ŠKODA Superb.

DM packs targeted at business customers continue to play with the theme of space and innovation. A ‘Virtual Desk Drive’ gave customers an exclusive first look at the ŠKODA Superb. With the help of Google Cardboard and a custom app, customers were immersed in a 3D world where they were able to view the key features of the new Superb. At a local level, the campaign has been adapted for the showroom environment where direct mail, email, digital, press and radio directed customers to VIP launch evenings.

The launch of the new ŠKODA Superb campaign closely follows the appointment of Andrew Cullis to the role of Head of Marketing in June. Cullis has a wealth of experience in the automotive industry, having been Marketing Director at Hyundai UK for the past seven years. Before this, he held various roles in brand and product marketing and PR for both Vauxhall and Citroёn.

At the 2018 Paris Motor Show, ŠKODA will be presenting itself not just as sporty and sustainable, but also as a mobility services provider. The Czech brand is inviting the show’s visitors to a special digital experience from 2 to 14 October: At the ŠKODA stand in the User Experience corner, they can go through a fictional day as an avatar that they have created themselves and be guided through tailor-made digital offers.

 

With the VISION RS concept study ŠKODA offers a look ahead in Paris, presenting a future compact car and the next stage of development for the sporty RS family. A family that now includes its first ever SUV – the ŠKODA KODIAQ vRS. The SCOUT and SPORTLINE variants expand the range for the ŠKODA KAROQ compact SUV.

ŠKODA is offering a first glimpse of the new ŠKODA KODIAQ vRS high-performance SUV by releasing two design sketches. Several accents in gloss black accentuate the dynamic appearance of the new, top-of-the-range SUV. It’s the first time the vRS initials, which are exclusively reserved for ŠKODA’s sportiest models, have been seen on an SUV. The emotive design comes alive thanks to the interplay of elegant lines, sporty contours and the typical robust nature of an SUV. The 240 PS ŠKODA KODIAQ vRS will make its debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show in October.
ŠKODA is continuing to whet appetites for the new ŠKODA KODIAQ vRS. Ahead of the car’s official world premiere at the 2018 Paris Motor Show in October, the Czech manufacturer is releasing yet more photographs of its features. The first SUV in the portfolio of ŠKODA vRS models impresses not only with its 240 PS diesel engine, but also with its sporty and elegant design, highlights in high-gloss black and 20-inch Xtreme alloy wheels.
Global demand for ŠKODA models continues to rise: In August, the Czech brand delivered 91,800 vehicles to customers, exceeding the previous year's result by 6.6% (August 2017: 86,100 vehicles). ŠKODA achieved particularly high growth rates in Russia (+33.5%) and China (+11.5%). Once again, the company also grew in Europe compared to the same period last year (+6.0%). The ŠKODA KAROQ, comprehensively modernised FABIA and the CITIGO achieved double-digit increases. The KODIAQ RS, KAROQ SCOUT and KAROQ SPORTLINE as well as the VISION RS concept study are celebrating their world premieres in Paris.
ŠKODA is revealing several details about its new KODIAQ RS ahead of the high-performance SUV’s official world premiere at the 2018 Paris Motor Show in October. In a video, ŠKODA is offering a preview of the car’s full-LED headlights, the virtual cockpit and the new Dynamic Sound Boost function, which accentuates the dynamic character of the ŠKODA KODIAQ RS with a meaty and even sportier sound.
The ŠKODA VISION RS gives an outlook on the future of the ŠKODA RS models. The design sketches offer a first impression of the concept study’s interior before the official world premiere at the Paris Motor Show in October. In addition, a video shows the innovative interior – with vegan and sustainably produced materials – taking shape in a Prague design studio.
