ŠKODA Lights up London with Paloma Faith Gig

28/02/2018
ŠKODA hosted a secret gig last night to celebrate its partnership with renowned recording artist, Paloma Faith. Around 500 fans were treated to an intimate performance that included songs from her new album, The Architect, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London.

Milton Keynes, 28 February 2018: Fans were the first to hear Paloma’s live performance of the classic hit song, Make Your Own Kind of Music. The singer has recorded her own version of the sixties classic that will feature in the brand’s forthcoming Karoq TV ad in March. The gig will also help raise awareness of ŠKODA’s Driver’s Seat Initiative: a programme which will work with the Prince’s Trust to celebrate individuality, giving young, creative people the opportunity to shape their own future and make a positive impact on their local community.

Paloma Faith, said: “It was so much fun to perform for my fans at the secret gig, and to try out some new material. Singing in such an intimate venue made the performance feel really personal and I couldn’t think of a better way to start my partnership with ŠKODA.”

Kirsten Stagg, Head of Marketing, ŠKODA UK, added, “Paloma truly embodies being Driven by Something Different. Make your Own Kind of Music celebrates that it’s good to go your own way and be an individual, an attitude that is shared between ŠKODA and Paloma. Listening to her on stage singing the song, was something truly special.”

'Make Your Own Kind of Music' will be available to stream from 2nd March.

ŠKODA’s Driver’s Seat Initiative will be available via The Prince’s Trust’s existing Get Started programme.

Following on from the first silhouette images, ŠKODA reveals the name of its new model – the ŠKODA SCALA. The name derives from the Latin word ‘SCALA’ which means ‘stairs’ and is a step forward for the Czech car manufacturer in the compact hatch segment. The SCALA is the first ŠKODA production model in Europe to carry the ŠKODA name in lettering across the centre of the tailgate and replaces the ŠKODA logo.
ŠKODA is releasing a silhouette picture to grant the public a first look at its future model for the popular compact class. It provides a first taste of the distinctive and dynamic design of this five-door model. This hatchback model translates the emotive design language of the study ŠKODA VISION RS, which recently attracted attention at the Paris Motor Show, into a production vehicle.

Baking fever has once again gripped the nation – and ŠKODA UK is no exception. The car manufacturer has partnered with celebrity baker and 2016 Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown to re-imagine a delicious, small-scale replica of the iconic Fabia cake. It comes more than a decade after ŠKODA’s advert, which saw a life-size version of the Fabia car made entirely out of cake.

Good things come in small packages, and according to the experts at What Car?, there are no finer compact used car options than the ŠKODA CITIGO and FABIA. Both have been awarded top honours at the What Car? Used Car Awards 2019 – seeing off tough competition in the process.
With the ŠKODA VISION RS, the Czech brand combines its sporting tradition with a sustainable future. At the Paris Motor Show 2018 in October, the striking concept study – with its dynamic design language and efficient plug-in hybrid drive – will provide the first insights into the next evolutionary stage of ŠKODA’s sporty RS models and the design of a future compact vehicle. ŠKODA also demonstrates a high level of environmental awareness with the use of sustainably produced Vegan materials.
The ŠKODA KODIAQ vRS is the Czech brand’s new, sporty, top-of-the-range model. In a week’s time, the high-performance SUV will celebrate its world premiere at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. The latest addition to the Czech brand’s vRS family combines a generous and flexible space as well as ŠKODA-typical practicality with a sporty interior.
