ŠKODA UK has launched its first online showroom. Customers can access the ŠKODA Live Tour on their computer, tablet or smartphone – and gain the showroom experience at a time and place that suits them. ŠKODA Live Tour instantly connects the customer to a ŠKODA Product Host by an internet video link, who takes them into the Live Tour showroom and introduces the ŠKODA models.
On the ŠKODA website www.skoda.co.uk, prospective customers now have the possibility of engaging in an online consultation with a ŠKODA Product Host to experience the brand’s latest models. A simple button on the product homepage allows users to request an immediate call back or arrange an appointment at a time convenient to them.
“Customers are seeking convenience and excellent service when looking to make a car purchase, and with more and more people doing their research online ahead of going to the showroom, the ŠKODA Live Tour brings the retail experience to a digital world that is easily accessible”, says Jonathan Harris, ŠKODA New Retail Concepts Manager.
“Our ŠKODA Product Hosts in the Live Tour essentially become our customer’s eyes and ears and use a series of static and handheld cameras to give the retailer experience all through an online platform.
Jonathan adds: “This is an important step for the brand and the future of automotive retail and how we interact with customers. Once we have opened up dialogue with the customers in the online environment, we then encourage them to visit a ŠKODA retailer and test drive our models for real.”
ŠKODA Live Tour utilises Whisbi’s cloud-based conversational technology to bring the real retailer experience online. Through the use of live video streaming, the customer is instantly connected to the Live Tour and a Product Host who uses a mix of smartphone camera and static cameras to showcase the details of the cars.
The consultant can present the exterior and interior of the vehicle, demonstrate ‘Simply Clever’ features, explain details such as the infotainment-system menu, and answer specific questions. If the potential buyer is interested in the boot, the Product Host can take them to the rear by mobile camera and demonstrate the loading space live.
During the conversation in the Live Tour, the Product Host can assist the customer in the online configuration of their desired vehicle and the search for a local ŠKODA retailer. The ŠKODA Product Host can also request an appointment for a test drive in person at the customer’s retailer of choice. The customer can input text via a chat window, for example, to confirm their name, address or email address.
The new ŠKODA Kodiaq and recently facelifted Octavia are ready for live presentation in the first online showroom. This gives users an exciting preview of the brand’s first large SUV. The ŠKODA Product Host can present the Kodiaq or Octavia to customers in detail, and can carry out the configuration with them directly.
ŠKODA's appearance at the Shanghai Motor Show 2017 (19 – 28 April) is characterized by electric change: With the Vision E study, the company provides its first brand-specific outlook on the future of individual mobility. The emotionally designed five-door SUV coupé can travel up to 500 kilometres on purely electric power and meets the level 3 requirements for autonomous driving. ŠKODA is intensively pursuing the electrification of its model range, and will be offering five purely electric models in various segments by 2025.
ŠKODA DESIGN emphasises its commitment to a distinct design identity with continuous development of its design language. Harmonious proportions, clean-cut lines, bold contours and crystalline features are combined to create a design that places a focus on precision and clarity. One of the sources of inspiration for ŠKODA's designers is Czech crystal glass art, which is characterised by outstanding craftsmanship. This yields an expressive, emotionally charged design which harmoniously combines aesthetics and functionality.
ŠKODA has announced that ordering for the new
Octavia vRS and Scout ranges will open on 1 March, with prices starting from £25,130
cylinder capacity, more power. In the ŠKODA FABIA and ŠKODA FABIA ESTATE, a 1.0
TSI engine with three cylinders and four valves is replacing the 1.2-litre
engine with four cylinders that has been used to date. The new engine offers more
power. The power output of the ŠKODA FABIA 1.0 TSI is 95 PS, while the output
of the more powerful version is at 110 PS but offers an improved torque figure of
200 Nm (previously 175 Nm). Downsizing offers another advantage: the engine’s
fuel consumption has been reduced by up to six per cent. One reason for this is
the three-cylinder engine concept with a reduced weight of the free inertial
forces and a more efficient oil pump. The revised ŠKODA FABIA and ŠKODA FABIA
ESTATE will be introduced to the public for the first time at the Geneva
International Motor Show (7-19 March 2017).
ŠKODA has delivered its two-millionth vehicle in China. The milestone vehicle is a ŠKODA SUPERB with a 1.4 TSI engine in Polar White. Werner Eichhorn, ŠKODA Board Member for Sales and Marketing, handed over the brand's flagship to customer Li Hongan in Shanghai. China is the largest single market for the long-established Czech brand. In 2017, ŠKODA is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its entry into the Chinese market.
ŠKODA is enhancing the elegant and affordable family favourites ŠKODA RAPID and ŠKODA RAPID SPACEBACK with numerous innovations. New lighting systems ensure even greater safety. Passengers are 'always online' thanks to an available WLAN hotspot. The new programme includes two efficient 1.0-TSI engines with three cylinders. The upgraded models will be presented to the public for the first time at the Geneva International Motor Show (7 – 19 March, 2017).
