21/10/2016
The ŠKODA Superb is celebrating its 15th anniversary: Since the first ŠKODA Superb in 2001, the traditional Czech manufacturer has produced around 900,000 vehicles of all three Superb generations. Since March 2015, more than 100,000 of these have been produced in the current third generation, which has successfully established itself in the automotive mid-class.

With a new, expressive design and innovative technologies, the new ŠKODA Superb led the brand into a new era: thanks to the sharp lines of the exterior, the most modern assistance systems for safety and comfort, powerful yet economical engines, the largest available space in the segment and numerous ‘Simply Clever’ details, the current generation has successfully established itself in the mid-class.

its extraordinary qualities, the ŠKODA Superb has been awarded the ‘Red Dot Award’ for outstanding product design and the title of ‘Car of the Year’ in numerous European countries. The production figures also underline the success of the brand's flagship: Since the first ŠKODA Superb of the third generation, which ran off the line in March 2015, ŠKODA has manufactured over 100,000 vehicles of the popular series. In total, the car manufacturer has produced nearly 900,000 ŠKODA Superb of the first, second and third generation.

The origins of ŠKODA’s large representative vehicles date back to the early years of automobile manufacturing. In 1907 the Laurin & Klement FF became the first eight-cylinder model in Central Europe. In the 1920s, the luxurious ŠKODA HISPANO-SUIZA, among others, was used by Czechoslovakia's first president, Tomás Garrique Masaryk; the eight-cylinder ŠKODA 860 was an impressive sight in the early 1930s. A representative ŠKODA model named Superb was launched for the first time in 1934: the ŠKODA 640 Superb. Just like the current generation, the forefather also featured trendsetting technology, with advanced independent suspension and a 2.5-litre six-cylinder engine producing 55bhp. Only around 200 vehicles left ŠKODA’s production halls.

Britain is experiencing a scorcher of a summer with temperatures soaring into the thirties during July. Forecasts are expected to stay sunny and hot, which is good news for sun-seekers but the heat can make family dogs feel very hot under the collar.
ŠKODA is getting into the summer spirit with a range of tempting new deals and offers on its range of award-winning cars. With significant deposit contributions of up to £3,000, finance rates as low as 3.9% representative APR and servicing packages, ŠKODA is turning up the heat on the competition and delivering fantastic value for money to customers.
It’s a case of another year, another haul of silverware for ŠKODA at the Auto Express New Car Awards. The brand recorded no fewer that three outright category wins - equalling its best ever performance at the Auto Express New Car Awards. The new KAROQ, KODIAQ and OCTAVIA all commanded their respective sectors, further reinforcing SKODA’s reputation for building some of the very best cars on the new car market.
ŠKODA AUTO CEO Bernhard Maier and Gurpratap Boparai, Managing Director of ŠKODA AUTO India Private Ltd, announced details of the ‘INDIA 2.0’ project at a press conference in New Delhi today.
The state-of-the-art emergency KAROQ follows on the wheels of ŠKODA’s renowned heritage of supplying emergency service vehicles that stretches back more than 110 years. The fully-converted rapid response KAROQ could play a significant role in blue light fleets over the coming years thanks to its versatility, comfort and value.

Emotion, dynamism and passion – ŠKODA combines all of these qualities with the ‘vRS’ initials. Even before its market launch, the Czech car manufacturer’s first high performance SUV, the ŠKODA KODIAQ vRS, proves that it can hold its own on the most challenging race track in the world. Racing driver Sabine Schmitz set the lap record for a seven-seater SUV at the Nürburgring’s legendary Nordschleife in the ŠKODA KODIAQ vRS, highlighting the car’s performance qualities. The KODIAQ vRS extends the range of vRS models in the ŠKODA line up.
