Safety in the Fabia

The ŠKODA Fabia is about safety without compromise. A rigid body structure designed for maximum energy absorbtion, a driver enabled speed limiter, side airbags, curtain airbags, front airbags and a 5 star Euro NCAP safety rating are just some of the features included in the Fabia - ensuring the safety of you and your passengers.

Front assist - Skoda Fabia Hatch

Front assist

Front assist is a safety system that will automatically warn the driver
about the possibility of a collision at certain speeds. If an object
or another vehicle cannot be avoided, Front assist will
kick in and apply the brakes whilst registering
and monitoring speed and distance.

Safe body design
The front and rear ends of the new Fabia have been built for maximum energy absorption, whilst special engine mounts prevent the engine from moving into the front compartment. The steering wheel column has been designed to remain fixed in place to avoid vertical or horizontal movement during a collision. Even the pedals are built to slide away from the driver - the new Fabia comes with safety engineered into its design.
Front airbags
The driver and passenger are protected by front airbags - one mounted in the steering wheel and the other in the dashboard.
Side airbags
The driver and passenger are protected by front airbags - one mounted in the steering wheel and the other in the dashboard.
Speed limiter
This feature is designed to offer maximum safety and control on the road by allowing the driver to limit the maximum speed of the car. Unlike cruise control, the speed limiter does not allow the predefined speed to be exceeded (minimum speed 18mph).
EURO NCAP Five-star Safety

Five-star safety

Awarded the maximum five-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests, the Fabia’s innovative design and safety systems provide you and your passengers with the best possible protection in the event of an accident.

ŠKODA’s Board Member for Technical Development, Dr Frank Welsch, confirmed Euro NCAP’s independent findings, stating “We have achieved this goal and it shows that the ŠKODA Fabia is one of the safest small cars in the market.” Read more >

ESC and multicollision brake

The Fabia features the incorporation of Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and a multicollision brake. ESC helps the driver remain in control of the car if it begins skidding and with the multicollision brake the Fabia will activate the braking system after a collision to prevent any further damage.
