How we’re doing our bit.
Making sure our products are environmentally friendly at every
stage of their life cycle is one of our top priorities. This is how
we’re doing it:
- We recycle as much as possible. Škoda parts are
marked so they can be quickly and easily identified when the car is
taken apart, or should groups of parts get separated. They’re also
designed for fast, easy dismantling when the car reaches the end of
its life cycle.
- We use the latest, most environmentally-friendly
manufacturing technologies and facilities available. For instance,
to protect our cars’ painted areas against corrosion, we insist on
leadless cataphoresis* (KTL) and waterbased colours.
- We do everything possible to cut fuel consumption
and emissions in both our petrol and diesel engines. We minimise
the frictional loss in wheel traction, make our vehicles as
aerodynamic as possible and our parts lighter, all so less energy
is used. All our engines meet the current emission
guidelines.
- We take steps to ensure no fluids escape, whether
during the manufacture of the car, while it’s being used or during
servicing. All our vehicles meet the laws and guidelines for the
protection of the environment, both land and water.
- Finally, by using the most modern analytical
methods and follow-up measures, we also lower noise levels and
improve sound quality in our cars.
The combined result is that Škodas are not only great to drive,
but they’re also as friendly as possible to the environment.
